  I had some friends who moved  to work in Zimbabwe and South Africa many years ago.  In an effort to learn some Zulu to assist me on working with Forgotten Voices International on a project, I went to UKZN: Durban for the International School 2007.  The program involved studying Zulu language and a Sociology-Political dynamics course about the Rainbow Nation.  Upon returning to the USA for further study I pursued isiZulu and won a Fulbright-Hays GPA scholarship to study isiZulu intensively  over the SAfrican winter 2008, also hosted by UKZN: Pietermaritzburg. 

  While there I had the opportunity to travel extensively through southern Mpumalanga, KZN, and a little around Johannesburg.  I have made many excellent friends in South Africa over the years and am excited to see what role this country and these people will play in my future.
